Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to join our rapidly growing organization. This is a hands-on technical role offering strong career development opportunities for someone looking to expand their experience in IT support, systems administration, and client-facing technology services.

The Junior Systems Engineer will work closely with Systems Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers in a highly collaborative environment that supports continuous learning and accelerated technical growth. This role will provide direct support to client users and infrastructure while serving as an extension of the Atlas Technica Support Team. This is a hybrid position that requires onsite support at client offices as needed.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a financial industry-focused managed service provider and gain experience supporting high-profile clients in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite and remote IT support to client users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, software, hardware, mobile device, and connectivity issues.
  • Use a ticketing system to document, manage, and resolve support requests.
  • Escalate technical issues to Systems Engineers or Senior Systems Engineers when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and client-specific guidelines.
  • Adhere to established change-control procedures.
  • Support client users and infrastructure across New York City, Stamford, and Greenwich as needed.
Requirements
  • At least one year of professional IT experience in desktop support, systems engineering, systems administration, or a related technical support function.
  • Experience providing end-user and desktop support for:
    • Microsoft Windows
    • Microsoft Office
    • Desktop and laptop computers
    • Mobile devices
  • Experience supporting primarily Microsoft 365 technologies, including:
    • Exchange Online
    • SharePoint Online
    • Microsoft Intune
    • Microsoft Entra ID/Azure Active Directory
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platforms, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated responsibility, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively with client users, technical team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to commute to client offices in New York City, Stamford, and Greenwich as needed.
  • Periodic travel between customer office locations within the metropolitan area will be required.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including, but not limited to:
    • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
    • Standing or sitting for extended periods
    • Pushing and pulling equipment
    • Climbing stairs
    • Stooping, kneeling, or crouching
    • Using hands and fingers to handle equipment
    • Reaching above the head or below knee level
    • Working around machinery and material-handling equipment
Desirable Qualities
  • Experience supporting clients within the financial services or alternative investment industries.
  • Familiarity with financial market applications, including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, or Capital IQ.
  • Experience working in a managed service provider environment.
  • Experience supporting Sophos or a similar endpoint threat-management platform.
  • Basic understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience using the ConnectWise suite of products.
  • Experience supporting platforms such as Google Workspace, Box, Dropbox, Duo, Okta, or AirWatch.
