We are currently seeking an OpenShift Engineer for our client in the Oil and Gas domain. We value our professionals, providing comprehensive benefits and the opportunity for growth. This is a Contract position, and the client is looking for someone to start immediately.

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)

Salary: $70.00/Hourly

Role: OpenShift Engineer

Primary Skills: OpenShift, Cluster Management, Cluster Security, Ceph

Role Description: The OpenShift Engineer must have 2-5 years of experience. In this role, you will be accountable for engineering, support, automation and thought leadership as it relates to the client’s Platform-as-a-Service offerings. You will administer the client’s multiple OpenShift clusters and will assist various project teams with application migrations to the client’s Platform-as-a-Service offerings, and other related activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

- OpenShift Administration

- OpenShift Data Foundation

- OpenShift Platform Plus

- Advanced Cluster Management

- Advanced Cluster Security

- Ceph Administration

- Extensive knowledge of Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures.

- Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.

- Specific knowledge and experience with migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads.

- Experienced with automated deployment tools.

- Conceptual and applied understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and practices.

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.

- Analytic skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multi-tasking environment where multiple projects will require participation at a given time.

- Ability to communicate complex technical issues, and provide comprehensive written, oral and digital products

- Working knowledge of networking topics such as protocols, firewalls, load balancer, etc.

- Must have the willingness to document, share knowledge and train other members of the team.

Preferred:

- Working knowledge of SSL certificates.

- Experience with Agile teams, tools, practices and ceremonies (kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.).

- Keeps abreast of relevant industry leading standards and emerging technologies.

- Container and Pod level monitoring and logging: Dynatrace, QRadar.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any IT related field.

Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience

Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses
