A Remote Open Source Developer is a software engineer who contributes to open source projects while working from a location outside of a traditional office. These developers collaborate with distributed teams, often using online platforms like GitHub or GitLab to share code and track issues. Their work involves writing, testing, and documenting code, as well as reviewing contributions from others. Remote Open Source Developers may be volunteers or paid contributors, and they typically engage with a global community to improve and maintain open source software.

How does a remote open source developer typically collaborate with distributed teams and community contributors?

As a remote open source developer, collaboration often takes place through online platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, and community forums. You will regularly participate in code reviews, contribute to discussions on issue trackers, and join virtual meetings or chat channels with both core team members and external contributors. Strong written communication skills are essential, as most interactions are asynchronous and require clear documentation. To thrive as a Remote Open Source Developer, you need strong programming skills (often in languages like Python, JavaScript, or C++), familiarity with open source workflows, and a solid understanding of version control systems like Git. Located in Orlando, Florida, we offer a broad spectrum of services aimed at improving emotional health and wellness. Our comprehensive approach addresses substance use recovery, developmental disabilities, and supports individuals with acquired brain injuries. By employing a foundation of respect, integrity, and compassion, we aim to empower each person through programming that emphasizes independence, community engagement, and wellness.

Work Environment

This position is uniquely suited for a remote working environment, allowing counselors the flexibility to work from home while maintaining an essential link to clients through telecommunications. Despite the remote nature, counselors frequently access shared resources, team meetings, and collaborative tools to ensure effective teamwork and support. Our outpatient office is equipped with the tools necessary for effective telehealth counseling, and we prioritize a work-life balance that encourages professional growth and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client.
  • Provide timely documentation and compliance with regulatory standards in all client assessments and treatment protocols.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools, integrating best practices recommended by the clinical team for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement positive behavioral support plans that promote client success.
  • Engage in active participation during licensing and accreditation processes to uphold our organizationโ€™s high standards.
  • Serve as a liaison to various service systems, state agencies, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Foster open communication with internal and external partners to enhance service provision and promote organizational mission.
  • Establish relationships with local or state organizations to explore new partnerships, funding opportunities, and program promotion.
  • Commit to personal and professional growth by attending workshops, conferences, and participating in relevant state meetings.
  • Promote the mission and values of Living Free Mental and Behavioural Center in all professional interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director to support organizational goals.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Living Free, you will work with a diverse client population, including individuals facing mental health challenges, trauma, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Your empathetic and individualized approach will help clients work toward their recovery goals, enhance their functioning, and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s Degree in a mental health-related field is required for this position.
  • Possession of an Independent LMHC license is essential.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in outpatient mental health counseling, particularly with diverse populations, is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in telehealth technologies and platforms is a plus, allowing for effective remote client engagement.
  • Experience with collaborative care models and an understanding of community resources can enhance service delivery.
Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Monthly Productivity Bonuses that reward your success in achieving client outcomes.
  • Opportunities for continued professional development and supervision, ensuring ongoing learning and growth.
  • A collaborative team environment that values your contributions.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate your work-life balance.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and sick leave.
  • 403(b) retirement plan with a 3% employer match.
  • Grants for first-time home buyers to support your stability.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Dependent Care Accounts to assist with family needs.
  • A hiring bonus as a welcoming gesture to new team members.
Career Growth Opportunities

Living Free Mental and Behavioural Center is committed to your professional journey. We provide pathways for advancement within the organization, allowing you to explore specialized roles, leadership opportunities, or program development positions. We invest in your success by offering training and mentorship programs designed to enhance your skills and knowledge in the mental health field.
