The Division is also at the cutting edge of the national discussion about cybersecurity, consumer data privacy rights, artificial intelligence and related topics like child online safety and privacy, and social media regulation. Utah is a leader in developing and instituting data privacy protections for consumers, and the Data Privacy team is responsible for enforcing the Utah Protection of Personal Information Act (UPPIA), the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), the Genetic Information Privacy Act (GIPA), and the Government Data Privacy Act (GDPA), and more.
