This is typically achieved through secure electronic health record (EHR) systems, regular virtual meetings, and scheduled check-ins to discuss patient cases. Many organizations also use instant messaging platforms and collaborative software to ensure that updates and critical information are shared promptly. Building clear protocols for escalation and documentation helps facilitate seamless teamwork, even when the RN is working from a remote location.

What are Remote Office RNs?

Remote Office RNs are registered nurses who perform their duties from a non-traditional healthcare setting, often from home or a centralized office, rather than at a hospital or clinic. Their responsibilities typically involve patient education, case management, triage, care coordination, and follow-up, all conducted via telephone or digital communication platforms. This role allows nurses to leverage their clinical expertise while working remotely, supporting patients and healthcare teams virtually.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Office RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Office RN, you need an active RN license, strong clinical assessment skills, and experience in telehealth or case management. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, EHR systems, and HIPAA compliance tools is essential. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and organizational skills help you provide effective care and support to patients remotely. These abilities ensure high-quality patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and efficient remote healthcare delivery.

Job description

Nurse Practitioners for Hormone Health Practice

Aligned Modern Health (AMH) is changing the face of healthcare and building the leading national brand in holistic medicine. Our unique, multi-disciplinary model offers patients evidence-based solutions to a host of health challenges including BHRT/hormone issues, thyroid, autoimmunity, stress and anxiety, GI distress, metabolic disorders, infertility, musculoskeletal pain, and more. We pride ourselves on outstanding clinical outcomes and a five-star patient experience. We have 16 clinics across the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, and we offer telehealth services for Functional Medicine and BHRT across 18 states and growing!

We are seeking outstanding Nurse Practitioners to join our Hormone Health practice. We are looking to build up both our "virtual/remote" team and local team in the Chicago area and are looking for licensed NPs, ideally with experience practicing Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), who want to be part of a dynamic organization committed to improving the healthcare landscape.

Our preference is to hire full-time providers but would consider part-time provider options on an individual basis (working additionally in a private practice doing similar work would not be permitted). Active IL APRN and IL DEA licenses are required to start. Providers based in AZ, CO, FL, IL, NC, OH, PA, TN, TX, and VA are preferred.

This position would focus mainly on thyroid conditions, hormone health (including lots of BHRT!) and some medication management. The heart of who we are and how we operate is "patient first." For full-time providers, we have a starting base salary guarantee of $130K (depending on experience), as well as bonus/revenue share opportunity. We also have a robust benefits package including medical/dental/vision, 401-k, med mal, paid time off, holiday pay, and more! We manage all marketing, staffing, practice management, billing and reimbursement, as well as provide all necessary equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • This position focuses mainly on hormone health - including predominantly Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), thyroid conditions, and some medication management
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on patients' needs and medical conditions
  • Prescribe nutraceuticals and/or medications and monitor their effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Provide counseling and education to patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems
  • Stay current with medical advancements, research, and clinical trials in the fields of functional, integrative and lifestyle medicine
Requirements
  • NP/APRN – with a concentration in Functional Medicine, Hormone Health, Anti-Aging or Lifestyle Medicine
  • Formal training and experience practicing Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) strongly preferred
  • Providers based in AZ, CO, FL, IL, NC, OH, PA, TN, TX, and VA are preferred
  • Must have (or be able to obtain) an IL APRN and IL DEA licenses and any remote location determined
  • Ideally full-time, but must be able to work at least 16-20 hours per week (including 1-2 evening shifts)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and interact effectively with patients and other providers
  • Energetic and outgoing personality with a desire to help people
  • Patient first attitude and ability to consistently provide a 5-star level of service
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

We offer competitive full-time employee compensation with additional benefits, including: Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plans, as well as dental and vision insurance, guaranteed paid time off (part-time providers are eligible for paid sick time only), malpractice insurance coverage, reimbursement for outside CEUs/CMEs, eligibility for short-term disability insurance and 401(k), unlimited opportunity to grow with one of Chicago's most exciting and fastest growing health and wellness companies.

Licensing Requirements: Active Illinois APRN license and IL DEA license required to start employment

Aligned Modern Health is an equal opportunity employer.
