Mind, Body, & Soul Counseling is seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team as we provide essential mental health support within our Special Education Program. This role is designed to be fully remote, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while engaging with our school community. The work setting promotes collaboration with educators and specialists remotely, allowing for creative problem-solving and innovative approaches to student mental health. We believe in fostering a work-life balance while providing essential support during critical school hours, primarily Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts, rotating weekends, and possible on-call requirements to support mental health emergencies.

The Mental Health Counselor will have diverse responsibilities, including:

• Conducting thorough mental health assessments for students, effectively identifying their unique challenges and needs.
• Developing individualized treatment plans tailored to each student, emphasizing mental health issues, emotional growth, and successful integration into the school community.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and support strategies for students with ASD, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma.
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions that aim to promote personal development, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.
• Collaborating closely with teachers, speech and occupational therapists, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
• Providing crisis intervention support during urgent mental health situations to ensure student safety and emotional support.
• Delivering educational psychoeducation sessions aimed at students and their families to enhance understanding of mental health conditions and available resources.
• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation as per legal standards while actively participating in team meetings and case conferences.
• Staying informed about current laws, regulations, and ethical practices in the mental health field.

This role primarily focuses on students within a school-based special education setting who present with a variety of challenges including autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbances, and learning disabilities. By offering much-needed support, you will play a critical role in enhancing their educational outcomes and overall quality of life, empowering them to achieve their potential.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or a related field.
• Two years of direct experience in a mental health setting, ideally working with children or adolescents.
• A profound understanding of various mental health disorders, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Strong practical skills in conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health issues, and formulating effective treatment plans.

While not mandatory, preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities.
• Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-stress scenarios.
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems to document interactions and manage case notes.

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 – 104,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
