Your role in our mission
Will support the design and development of modern, cloud?native healthcare and public sector products. This role is a senior individual contributor position that blends hands?on engineering with technical advisory leadership, supporting mission?critical systems that serve patients, providers, and public programs. You will help modernize and scale platforms used in healthcare delivery, public health, and government services, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, reliable, and built for long?term sustainability.
Product Engineering & Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java?based product platforms supporting healthcare and public sector use cases.
  • Build and evolve cloud?native applications using modern frameworks and engineering best practices.
  • Translate policy, regulatory, and program requirements into secure, production?ready software.
  • Develop reusable services, shared components, and platform capabilities to support multiple programs.

Cloud & Platform Engineering
  • Design and deploy solutions on AWS, leveraging secure, compliant, and cost?effective cloud services.
  • Apply microservices, API?first, and event?driven architectures to support interoperability and scalability.
  • Ensure systems meet requirements for availability, resiliency, performance, and disaster recovery in regulated environments.
  • Support modernization initiatives that move legacy platforms toward cloud?native architectures.

DevOps, CI/CD & Automation
  • Design and improve CI/CD pipelines with strong controls for quality, security, and compliance.
  • Apply DevOps practices to improve release reliability, transparency, and auditability.
  • Partner with platform, SRE, and security teams to implement monitoring, logging, and operational readiness.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enable repeatable, governed environments.

AI?Enabled Engineering & Automation
  • Utilize AI?assisted engineering tools to improve development efficiency, code quality, and test coverage.
  • Implement automation to streamline software delivery, testing, and operational workflows.
  • Evaluate emerging AI and automation capabilities for safe, responsible use in healthcare and public sector contexts.

Technical Advisory & Leadership
  • Serve as a technical advisor to product, architecture, and delivery teams.
  • Conduct design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote engineering standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps focused on modernization, interoperability, and long?term sustainability.

What we're looking for
11+ years of applications development and programming using Java experience to include:
  • Modern Java frameworks (Spring/Spring Boot)
  • Building cloud?native solutions on AWS
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing
  • Containerization and orchestration ( Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent)
  • API design, RESTful services, and integration patterns
  • Working in Agile, product?centric teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Delivering solutions in healthcare, public health, or government environments
  • Healthcare data, interoperability, or compliance requirements (HIPAA)
  • AI?powered development or automation tools
  • Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Observability, monitoring, and operational support in regulated systems
  • Modernization of legacy public sector or healthcare platforms

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
