Job description

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Consulting Systems Engineer for our Service Provider team to support one of our existing strategic accounts.

This role reports within the Systems Engineering organization and works collaboratively with System Engineering Leadership, Sales Leadership, Support, Engineering, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Marketing, Strategy and Alliances to drive large/strategic deals to closure at our Service Provider accounts.ย ย 

In this role, you are accountable for crafting and disseminating a strategic vision for how Everpure and our technology can create better business outcomes for the customer.ย  You are responsible for shaping the technical approach that wins share in your assigned Service Provider account, from building the solution to enabling its adoption.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work alongside SE Management to provide technical leadership and support
  • Develop an exhaustive understanding of what drives a customer's business and what motivates their decision making
  • Connect the dots from technology solutions, inclusive of the Everpure portfolio and others from the ecosystem, to measurable customer business outcomes
  • Partner closely with account managers, specialists and channel partners to create a seamless and holistic customer experience and strategy to drive revenue growth and net new business
  • Refine sales strategy and tactics, taking command of technical responsibilities
  • Delight customers and teammates with your technical leadership and domain expertise on storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, object storage, and competitive storage offerings in the DAS, NAS and SAN product spaces
  • Undertake presentations, solution demonstrations and Executive Briefing Center (EBC) sessions
  • Capture requirements and translate Customer's business needs into innovative solutions to accelerate their growth and capacity
  • Author responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and related proposal requests
  • Seek out and spur new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing/validation
  • Promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges
  • Stay current with market trends and the competition, ensuring that materials accurately reflect the latest, differentiated solution positioning
  • Act as role model and mentor for other Systems Engineers
  • Be seen as the solution expert in complex POC and TCO calculations

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience, mixed among technology, design, and communications required.ย  Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise/Telco accounts preferred
  • Previous pre-sale experience required
  • Creativity, empathy, an open mind, curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • A "roll up your sleeves" mentality, including a willingness to learn by experimenting
  • Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients
  • Knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures: NVMe / NVMe-oF (incl. NVMe/TCP), Fibre Channel and Ethernet/IP storage networking; block, file (NAS) and object (S3); and scale-out, software-defined and disaggregated designs needed
  • Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
  • Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems and Linux distributed network environment
  • Experience with distributed computing, multiprocessing, shared memory architectures, and cache architectures
  • Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud (public and on-prem), containers, kubernetes and microservices architectures is highly desirable
  • Previous experience with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle) is highly desirable
  • Experience with 5G architecture and the underlying data layer, telco cloud, network functions virtualization (NFV), and containerized network functions (CNFs) preferred
  • Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and general networking is a plus
  • Experience with large-scale network telemetry, observability data, and analytics or AI data pipelines is strongly preferred
  • Awareness of public-sector and regulated workloads and their associated security and compliance requirements is a plus
