Job description


  • Management of DevOps for AWS (Amazon Web Services); Owning infrastructure code; making required changes
  • Release Management: Take releases, own process and relevant improvements, and drive to success;
  • Ability to drive process in additional platforms over time

Responsibilities
Application Operations
  • Familiarity with configuring AWS services for example:
    • Lambdas
    • DynamoDB
    • API Gateway
    • SNS
    • SQS
    • SES
    • Cognito
    • IAM
    • S3
    • EventBridge

Cybersecurity
  • Distill findings from security team and address any actions
  • Map security callouts raised by security team to applicable AWS service
  • Create actionable list of items
  • Execute against the list of items to resolve security findings
  • Continuously monitor and address findings from automated scans

Reporting & Observability
  • Continuously maintaining monitoring and alerting for various AWS services to ensure quick triage by the team in the event of failure or outage
  • Configuration of notification mechanisms

Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
  • 4+ years in application operations, SRE, or platform engineering in a cloud-native environment (AWS preferred)

Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge)
  • Deep knowledge of modern authentication/authorization - OAuth 2.0, JWT, PKCE, mutual TLS, API key management
  • Familiarity with OWASP, CIS Benchmarks, NIST 800-53, or SOC2 controls

Skills:
  • Hands-on CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, ArgoCD, or similar). Writing associated configuration files to accommodate build/deployment requirements
  • Experience with security tooling - SAST/DAST scanners, dependency auditing, secrets management, WAF configuration
  • Proficiency with observability platforms (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, Grafana, or equivalent)
  • Strong scripting (Bash, Python, or Node.js) for automation, incident response tooling, and reporting
  • Experience managing DLQs, event replay, and ensuring idempotency in distributed systems

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
  • HIPAA-compliant infrastructure experience
  • AWS Security Specialty or equivalent certification
  • Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, or CloudWatch Logs Insights at scale)
  • FinOps awareness - correlating cost with operational and security posture

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
