What is remote nutrition coaching?

A Remote Nutrition Coaching job involves providing personalized nutrition guidance and support to clients through virtual platforms like video calls, emails, or messaging apps. Coaches assess clients' dietary habits, set goals, and create tailored nutrition plans to help them achieve better health. This role often includes ongoing check-ins, education on healthy eating, and accountability to support long-term lifestyle changes. It offers flexibility to work from anywhere while helping clients improve their nutrition and well-being.

What skills and qualifications are needed for remote nutrition coaching?

To thrive as a Remote Nutrition Coach, you need a comprehensive understanding of nutrition science, client assessment, and program development, typically supported by a degree in nutrition or a related field and relevant certifications such as Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS). Familiarity with telehealth platforms, secure communication tools, and dietary tracking apps is commonly required. Strong communication skills, empathy, self-motivation, and cultural sensitivity are valuable soft skills in this role. These abilities are essential for building trust, delivering personalized guidance remotely, and supporting clients effectively in a virtual environment.

What are the main challenges of working as a remote nutrition coach compared to in-person coaching?

One of the main challenges of remote nutrition coaching is building strong client relationships and trust without face-to-face interactions. Coaches must be adept at using digital communication tools to engage clients and provide support, often working across different time zones. Staying organized and managing client progress online requires self-discipline and excellent follow-up skills. However, the remote setup also offers flexibility and the ability to serve a diverse client base, making it possible to reach more individuals and tailor programs to their unique needs.

Job description

About Ucardia

Ucardia is redefining longevity and vitality. We combine credentialed health coaches, registered dietitians, and AI-powered insights to deliver personalized, scalable programs that help people optimize cardiovascular and metabolic health-extending healthspan and improving quality of life. Our mission is to help people live longer, stronger, and healthier lives, and make it seamless for organizations to deliver that impact.

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, we partner with forward-thinking medical practices, concierge providers, employers, and research organizations who want to differentiate their offerings, improve outcomes, and elevate the care experience through a modern, tech-enabled platform that integrates seamlessly into care delivery.

Why this role matters

Nutrition is a cornerstone of cardiometabolic health, and this role sits at the center of meaningful, sustainable change. As a Registered Dietitian at Ucardia, you'll translate evidence-based nutrition science into practical, human guidance that fits real lives. You'll work closely with members through live video sessions and ongoing asynchronous support, using data, empathy, and accountability to turn intention into lasting habits.=

You'll also collaborate with coaches, exercise physiologists, and clinical partners to ensure nutrition strategies align with broader health goals, medical context, and real-world constraints.

What you'll own (responsibilities)

Live nutrition coaching

Lead one-on-one virtual nutrition sessions via video. Assess dietary patterns, medical history, goals, and barriers; deliver clear, actionable guidance rooted in cardiometabolic best practices.

Personalized nutrition planning

Develop and adapt evidence-based nutrition strategies tailored to heart health, weight management, metabolic conditions, medication context, cultural preferences, and lifestyle realities.

Data-informed guidance

Interpret biometric and wearable signals alongside dietary intake and lived context. Use trends to inform coaching strategy and adjust plans before setbacks compound.

Cross-disciplinary collaboration

Partner with Ucardia health coaches, exercise physiologists, and clinical teams on complex cases. Contribute to integrated care plans and escalate concerns through established protocols when needed.

Education & content contribution

Support the creation and refinement of nutrition education materials, messaging templates, and program content that scale high-quality guidance across the platform.

Documentation & compliance

Maintain clear, concise, HIPAA-compliant documentation. Ensure adherence to professional standards, licensure requirements, and partner-specific protocols.

Operational feedback loops

Share recurring insights, member friction points, and opportunities for improvement with product, content, and operations teams to strengthen the overall experience.

What you bring (required)

Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential with verifiable licensure; multi-state licensure is a plus

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field

Two or more years of experience in nutrition counseling, with focus areas including cardiometabolic health, weight management, or chronic disease

Experience delivering virtual care through video and asynchronous messaging

Familiarity with GLP-1 medications, metabolic health, and evidence-based weight management approaches

Strong communication skills grounded in empathy, clarity, and accountability

Comfort working in fast-moving, evolving startup environments

Tech fluency with telehealth platforms, digital tools, and remote workflows

Bonus skills & differentiators

Experience in early-stage or digital health startups

Bilingual, especially Spanish

Familiarity with Slack, Google Workspace, and coaching or clinical CRMs

Experience working alongside multidisciplinary care teams

What success looks like (first 3 months)

Consistent, high-quality member engagement across sessions and messaging

Timely, thoughtful responses that keep members progressing

Strong collaboration with coaches, clinical partners, and Member Support

Meaningful contribution to nutrition content, workflows, or program improvements

Clear documentation and reliable adherence to compliance standards

Tools & environment

You'll coach through Ucardia's proprietary platform using live video and asynchronous chat, supported by integrations such as Apple Health, Fitbit, and connected biometric devices. Day-to-day collaboration happens in Slack, with documentation and workflows supported by modern digital tools.

Compensation & logistics

This is a contract (1099), remote role with part-time availability of 20 or more hours per week.

Ucardia offers a competitive hourly pay range of $45 to $65 per hour, based on experience, clinical background, and geographic location.
Pay within this range is determined by factors such as years of practice, areas of specialty (for example cardiometabolic health, weight management, or chronic disease), multi state licensure, and availability.
Evening or weekend availability is a plus to align with member demand.

Screening & compliance

Selected candidates will undergo background and, where applicable, drug screening in accordance with applicable laws and partner requirements.
