This full-time position operates within an outpatient office setting, allowing for flexibility and remote work opportunities. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough preliminary interviews with clients, accurately documenting their mental health cases from the initial consultation to the completion of treatment.
• Evaluating clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health through standardized assessments and comprehensive clinical evaluations.
• Developing personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and interactive space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings.
• Monitoring client progress consistently throughout the treatment process and adjusting plans as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
• Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, including mental health specialists, physicians, nurse practitioners, and social workers, to develop cohesive intervention strategies.
• Following up with any psychiatric evaluations and attending physicians for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
• Identifying barriers to recovery, implementing prevention strategies, and assisting family members in managing mental behavioral challenges.

The clients served at Regain Strength encompass a wide range of mental health needs, including those facing anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, addiction issues, and more. Our commitment to cultural competence allows us to cater to a diverse population, ensuring that every individual receives personalized and respectful care that addresses their unique background and circumstances.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• Required passing scores on national examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating effective intervention strategies and case management skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to keep meticulous client records.
• Understanding and experience with co-occurring physical and mental health disorders, along with addiction treatment.
• Knowledge of best practices as established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
• Empathetic disposition and exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate sensitive interactions.

• Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Proven track record of managing complex cases and utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and their application in different client scenarios.
