Job description

Norton Lifetime Learning is hiring a Digital Marketing Manager. You'll join a rapidly growing publishing group dedicated to producing books and digital products that empower adult learners to build skills, advance their careers, and pursue interests beyond traditional degree programs.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, entrepreneurial-minded digital marketer, who thinks in funnels, conversion rates, and lifetime value, and feels comfortable using modern marketing tools (including AI) to do more, faster. You will own the lifecycle marketing program for continuing education end-to-end: designing the customer journey from first touch through repeat purchase, building the email campaigns and automated journeys that move people through it, writing the copy, analyzing the results, and iterating. You will also help shape strategy across our broader Lifetime Learning digital channels. The digital marketing manager will report to the Director of Lifetime Learning.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Own continuing education lifecycle marketing strategy and execution across email (including segmentation, automated journeys, and triggered campaigns) to drive conversions and long-term customer value.
  • Map and optimize the customer journey from free content through paid memberships and continuing education products, identifying where to nurture, convert, and re-engage.
  • Write conversion-oriented copy across channels, including sales pages, launch sequences, promotional emails, and social posts, and then refine it based on what the data shows.
  • Run paid and organic social campaigns that support launches, list growth, and retargeting.
  • Build and maintain segmentation frameworks that allow us to deliver the right message to the right audience at the right stage of their journey.
  • Measure and report on lifecycle performance across email and social, including segment-level engagement, conversion rates, and customer lifetime value. Based on the analytics and sales data, you will refine offers and scale what works.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate research, drafting, testing, and analysis, as well as bring new ideas to the team for how the Lifetime Learning team can work smarter.
  • Collaborate with Lifetime Learning colleagues to keep copy, visuals, and funnel strategy aligned.
  • Continuously test new approaches to grow the list, lift engagement, and improve customer lifetime value.

Please note- this job description is not designed to cover all activities required of the employee.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5 years of digital marketing experience with clear, measurable results, ideally including lifecycle or CRM marketing in direct-response, subscription, mental health, or education-adjacent businesses.
  • Strong copywriting skills, especially for email and landing pages, with examples you can walk us through.
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot preferred, or at least experience with a major email/marketing automation platform (e.g. ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, or Account Engagement / Pardot) and a willingness to learn HubSpot and other systems.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and practical experience managing paid campaigns on Meta platforms.
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve marketing workflows for drafting, ideation, segmentation, analysis, or testing.
  • Analytical mindset: you read the data, form a hypothesis, test it, and iterate.
  • Genuine interest in continuing education, mental health, and psychotherapy.
  • Self-directed, organized, and responsive; equally comfortable working independently and collaborating across remote teams.
  • Employment eligibility to work with W.W. Norton & Company in the US is required.
  • While this position is fully remote, occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be able to work full business hours.

Compensation and Benefits*

Currently available benefits include:

  • Annual compensation for this position is $85,000-95,000. All salaries and salary ranges posted by Norton may vary depending on experience, skills, location, and like considerations.
  • Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and summer Friday afternoons beginning in July
  • Generous health benefits, including PPO, EPO, and High Deductible (with HSA) medical insurance options, vision insurance, dental insurance, flexible spending accounts for healthcare, dependent care and commuter, gym membership reimbursement, and more. Coverage for spouses, domestic partners, and dependent children is available.
  • Profit-Sharing and 401(k) benefit plan with discretionary contribution matching by employer
  • Disability and life insurances
  • FMLA, parental and other leave
  • Employee Assistance Program (for mental health, financial planning, and other needs)
  • Company-provided laptop
  • Employee discounts on Norton books
  • Limited matching of employee donations to select non-profit organizations

*All policies and benefits described are subject to change at any time.
