What is a Remote No Experience Full Stack Software Developer?

A Remote No Experience Full Stack Software Developer is someone who works from any location (typically from home) and contributes to both the front-end and back-end development of software applications, even if they do not have prior professional experience in the field. These roles are often entry-level and may require strong foundational knowledge of programming languages, web development frameworks, and databases. Many companies offer training or mentorship for beginners, making it possible for newcomers to start a career in software development remotely.

What are some common challenges faced by remote full stack software developers with no prior experience, and how can they overcome them?

Remote full stack software developers who are new to the field often face challenges such as adapting to collaborative workflows, managing time effectively, and quickly learning both front-end and back-end technologies. Since you may not have direct mentorship in a remote setting, proactively communicating with your team and making use of company-provided resources or online communities is essential. Setting a structured daily routine, breaking down tasks into manageable goals, and regularly seeking feedback can help you stay on track and accelerate your learning curve.

  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, documentation, release support, and ongoing maintenance activities to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Help ensure solutions meet security, compliance, accessibility, and performance expectations in support of mission-aligned customers.

Work Experience and Job Skills:

  • Experience developing across frontend and backend technologies such as JavaScript or TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue, and Python, C#, Java, Node.js, or similar languages.
  • Experience building dashboards, reporting tools, or data visualization solutions using web technologies, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting or developing SharePoint-based solutions, including SharePoint Online, lists, libraries, permissions, workflows, forms, or integrations with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Understanding of relational databases, APIs, data transformation, and systems integration needed to support reporting and business process workflows.
  • Experience supporting project, portfolio, PMO, or operational reporting environments is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Department of the Navy (DoN) training programs, Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives, or Department of War (DoW) contracts is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate user needs into maintainable technical solutions.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development, automation, or AI/ML-enabled features is a plus but not required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred field of study in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field of study.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Relevant Microsoft, cloud, SharePoint, Power Platform, visualization, or software development certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Examples may include Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Azure Fundamentals, Security+, or similar credentials aligned with the role.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to present ideas, status, and technical concepts clearly, and comfortable interfacing with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation, user guidance, technical artifacts, and status reporting in a professional manner.

Clearance Requirements:
