Akamai\'s Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. You will report directly to the Director of Security Engineering. You will have the opportunity to address global security challenges and make the Internet a safer place. which is powered by the scale of Akamai\'s platform and influence.

Partner with the best

As a Senior Security Engineer you will be assessing and mitigating the risk of doing business in today\'s hyper-connected world. . You will work directly with Akamai\'s IT and engineering organizations providing security design guidance for new and existing applications, systems and platforms.

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Researching and staying current on adversarial techniques, emerging vulnerabilities, and related detection and response strategies.
  • Conducting network, application and system security assessments to identify risks and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Assisting with design and deployment of security risk mitigating controls.
  • Performing compliance and policy-based investigations of internal systems.
  • Documenting security guidelines, procedures, and policies with a particular emphasis on NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171.
  • Providing security guidance and consultation to Akamai business units.
  • Leveraging emerging AI capabilities to enhance new and existing processes and automation
  • Developing scripts and tools to support the above functions.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor\'s degree
  • Have proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management
  • Show experience with malware and vulnerability identification and mitigation
  • Have experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities
  • Have experience with the secure deployment and usage of infrastructure-as-a-service
  • Demonstrate experience working in a FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environment

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $112,500 - $202,500/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
