Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Risk Management Regional Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for leading asset protection and loss prevention efforts across assigned retail locations to protect company assets, reduce shrink and support safe, secure store operations. Identifies and investigates loss-related activity, analyzes trends and risk indicators, recommends corrective actions, and partners cross-functionally and other business partners to strengthen controls and drive operational excellence while fostering and exemplifying James Avery's Core Values.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Identify, investigate, document, and resolve suspected internal and external theft, asset loss, policy violations, and other risk-related incidents across assigned retail locations in accordance with company standards.
  • Analyze loss trends, exception reporting, and security system data to identify root causes, assess risk and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute proactive asset protection strategies in partnership with Store Operations, Risk Management, and other business partners.
  • Assess physical security controls, security equipment, access procedures, store practices within assigned areas of responsibility, and escalate concerns and support timely resolution.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely investigative reports, case documentation, findings, and recommendations to support business decisions and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain a consistent in-person presence at assigned locations to build trust, provide guidance, reinforce standards, and support timely response to loss prevention concerns.
  • Develop, facilitate and reinforce relevant loss prevention, safety and risk management training and materials for a variety of audiences through in-person and remote delivery methods.
  • Support critical incident response, special projects, investigations, audits, process improvements and other Risk Management and Loss Prevention initiatives as assigned.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Security Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 4 years of experience in loss prevention, asset protection, investigations or relevant field.
  • Certification in Investigational Interviewing.
  • Knowledge in Network Video Recorder (NVR) system usage with a successful history of investigative applications.
  • Familiarity with basic access control systems, fire-alarm components, and intrusion detection alarm systems.
  • Skilled in theft-related investigations; quickly identifying exceptions, thoroughness of preliminary research, case development, strategic interviewing techniques, comprehensive documentation of all processes, and forensic-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and conduct effective training to various audiences.
  • Effective in communicating root-cause/effect and reoccurrence mitigation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to critical incidents outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% as business need requires

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience supporting multi-store, regional, or specialty retail environments.
  • Advanced professional certification(s), such as: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Loss Prevention Certified (LPC), Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), Associate Protection Professional (APP), Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) and/or Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) certifications or professional designations.
  • Experience conducting complex investigations involving Organized Retail Crime (ORC), digital commerce, POS exception creation, digital commerce, POS exception creation, refund abuse schemes, wholesale fraud, supply-chain asset protection, vendor fraud, pawn investigations, counterfeit operations, chain-of-custody best methods, trademark/copyright infringement experience, and/or workplace violence mitigation.
