 Job Summary
 We are seeking an experienced IBM DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) to administer, maintain, secure, optimize, and support enterprise DB2 database environments for a large manufacturing organization.
The DBA will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, reliability, security, backup and recovery, and operational stability across development, test, QA, and production environments.
 Key Responsibilities

·        Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and maintain IBM DB2 databases.
·        Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
·        Perform database and SQL performance tuning.
·        Analyze SQL execution plans and identify performance bottlenecks.
·        Optimize tables, indexes, queries, memory, storage, and database configurations.
·        Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures.
·        Perform database restoration and recovery when required.
·        Design and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery configurations.
·        Perform database capacity planning and storage management.
·        Manage database users, roles, privileges, and access controls.
·        Implement database security, encryption, and auditing requirements.
·        Monitor database logs, jobs, utilities, and scheduled processes.
·        Troubleshoot database failures, locking, deadlocks, connectivity, and performance issues.
·        Perform root-cause analysis of production database incidents.
·        Support database migrations, upgrades, refreshes, and environment cloning.
·        Develop scripts and utilities to automate routine DBA activities.

·        Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis capabilities.
·        Experience with database monitoring and performance-management tools.
 
Preferred certification.

·        IBM DB2 certification.
 
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
