Job Description

FIS Management Services, LLC seeks Software Engineer Specialists-Payments API Platform (Real Time & Event Driven) in Jacksonville, FL to design, develop, and govern a companywide API and event platform, defining canonical models, structured data contracts, and versioning to enable interoperable, audit ready integrations. Evaluate system specifications for complex business requirements and prepare computer based solutions, and analyze problems in terms of detailed system and cloud resource capabilities to ensure scalability and resilience. Lead the architecture and operation of 247365, low-latency services with documented availability objectives and continuous operations patterns including active-active, automated failover. Establish and enforce security architecture for digital transactions using recognized frameworks, tokenization, and hardware-backed key management with validated cryptographic modules. Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, RBAC, and secrets management. Integrate strong customer authentication where required, achieving zero high severity audit findings, SAST/DAST 90% coverage, and 100% on-schedule key rotations. Design and develop RESTful and event driven APIs using modern technologies including Java/Spring Boot, NET Core, Node.js, and Python Flask, with automated CI/CD. Set the reliability engineering program for APIs and event pipelines by defining SLIs/SLOs, implementing error-budget governance, standardizing runbooks and chaos/resiliency tests, and improving health. Implement end-to-end observability including traces, metrics, and logs with correlation and golden-signal dashboards. Engineer transaction integrity via idempotency, deduplication, replay/retry semantics, and safe-retry keys to deliver exactly-once-like outcomes. Own API spec governance for synchronous HTTP and asynchronous events-compatibility rules, deprecation policy, and contract/conformance tests. Drive performance engineering for high throughput, low latency services through partitioning, indexing, memory/GC tuning, and hot path optimizations. Lead structured data migration and interoperability with mapping guides, reconciliation controls, and cutover/rollback plans. Produce and maintain technical documentation-API specs, integration guides, reference adapters/SDKs, and test harnesses. Collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and operations to translate requirements into measurable outcomes Chair design/risk reviews for ADRs, threat models, data classification, segregation of duties to align with risk, audit, and compliance. Verify program logic by preparing representative test data and executing trial runs in lower/UAT environments.
