Job description

Sr. Director of Engineering

Location:ย Remote (US)

Position Summary

The Sr. Director of Engineering provides leadership across engineering functions in a mid-sized technology company. This role oversees teams responsible for business applications (including NetSuite/Salesforce), core platform integrations, data engineering, and endpoint/product integrations. The leader will unify technical disciplines into a cohesive, high-performing organization that delivers secure, scalable, and strategically aligned solutions. They will foster collaboration across functions, enforce standards, and maintain a strong focus on operational reliability, vendor partnerships, and business success.

This individual will play a key role in evolving the companyโ€™s software ecosystem, including a major platform transformation in 2026 and ongoing data and Cloud modernization initiatives.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide vision, direction, and cohesion across engineering groups, including CRM/ERP services, platform integrations, data engineering, and endpoint development.
  • Translate business strategy into technical execution plans, emphasizing off-the-shelf solutions, vendor integrations, and disciplined portfolio management.
  • Build an engineering culture grounded in accountability, process discipline, quality, and cross-organizational partnership.
  • Partner closely with Product, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders

Cross-Team Integration & Collaboration

  • Serve as the bridge between engineering domains, enabling clear communication and smooth handoffs.
  • Partner closely with Product, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders.
  • Champion architecture standardization, long-term sustainability, and effective vendor management.

Engineering

  • Oversee Salesforce and NetSuite implementation & integration, workflow automation, and technical documentation.
  • Guide integration and maintenance of the core AWS/Azure/IMS cloud platforms, including endpoint behavior across devices.
  • Direct data pipelines, integrations, reporting, and migration from distributed SQL environments to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams on CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, and lifecycle support while keeping engineering focused on strategic delivery.

Governance, Planning & Delivery

  • Drive structured planning, estimation, budgeting, and delivery cycles for predictable, high-quality outcomes.
  • Enforce best practices in CI/CD, code reviews, documentation, testing, and incident-free releases.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science; Masterโ€™s preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing IT engineering teams, including fully remote/distributed environments.
