• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students to understand their emotional and psychological needs.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans that are solution-focused and centered around individual student challenges, including trauma, anxiety, and depression.
• Use therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques to ensure positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in regular collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team to discuss case progress and share therapeutic strategies.
• Stay current with developments in social work, psychology, and educational practices through ongoing training and research.

Your primary focus will be on students facing a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to, mental health issues, familial disruptions, bullying, and academic stressors. The diverse backgrounds of students in our Burlington school district will provide you with the opportunity to address a variety of cultural and socioeconomic factors influencing their well-being.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
• An active LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) license in the state of Vermont is required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a natural ability to build rapport with children, parents, and educational staff.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while demonstrating independent problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience working in educational settings or with children and adolescents.
• Training in trauma-informed care and treatment modalities, particularly in school-based environments.
• Familiarity with mental health resources available in Vermont.
