We are located in Darien, IL

About Our Agency

Snyder Insurance & Financial Services is a well-established, full-service independent insurance agency with over 40+ years of dedicated service to clients throughout Illinois and beyond. Headquartered in the Chicago area (Darien, IL), we specialize in delivering customized personal lines, commercial, health, and life insurance solutions. Our reputation is built on strong client relationships, personalized attention, and a commitment to finding the best coverage at competitive rates.

As our agency continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and client-focused Personal Lines Account Manager to manage and enhance our personal lines portfolio, ensuring exceptional service and supporting our ongoing expansion.

Position Overview

The Personal Lines Account Manager will be responsible for servicing an established book of personal lines business, including auto, home, renters, condo, umbrella, motorcycle, boat, and other personal insurance products. This role requires a proactive professional who excels at building client relationships, identifying coverage opportunities, and delivering high-quality service in a supportive team environment.

We provide thorough initial in-office training and onboarding to help you become fully integrated into our processes, systems, and team culture. As you demonstrate strong performance and comfort with the role, the position transitions to a hybrid work arrangement, with the potential for fully remote opportunities in the future. This flexible structure supports both career development and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and Quote Personal Lines Policies: Develop accurate, competitive quotes for a full range of personal lines insurance products, tailoring recommendations to meet the unique needs of our established customer base.
  • Cross-Sell and Upsell Coverage Opportunities: Proactively identify and recommend additional or enhanced coverages to new and existing clients to improve protection, increase client value, and support policy retention and agency growth.
  • Resolve Client Inquiries and Service Needs: Address customer questions, concerns, claims issues, and policy changes promptly, professionally, and with empathy to maintain high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Conduct Policy Reviews and Follow-Ups: Schedule regular client reviews and communications to keep customers informed about coverage updates, industry developments, new products, and potential gaps in protection.
  • Maintain Accurate Client Records: Manage policy documentation, endorsements, renewals, and compliance requirements using agency systems.
  • Thrive in a Collaborative, Fast-Paced Environment: Work effectively within a friendly, team-oriented setting while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Additional responsibilities may include supporting marketing efforts, assisting with new business applications, and contributing to departmental initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in personal lines insurance, with a proven track record in account management, client service, or sales within the insurance industry. Experience working with High Net Worth (HNW) or High Value clients, including complex accounts involving high-value homes, excess liability, luxury autos, and specialty risks, is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Applied Epic agency management software is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook) is required for reporting, data management, and communication.
  • Client Relationship Skills: Exceptional ability to build rapport, establish trust, and develop long-term partnerships with clients through personalized, attentive service.
  • Organizational Excellence: Highly detail-oriented with strong time management skills to handle a high volume of tasks, meet strict deadlines, and maintain accuracy in all activities.
  • Communication Abilities: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain insurance concepts, coverage options, and policy details to clients and carriers.
  • Licensing Requirements: Must hold an active Property & Casualty insurance license (ability to maintain or obtain additional state licenses as needed).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, starting at $70,000 annually, with significant potential for higher compensation based on qualifications, proven performance, book size, and industry standards. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement savings options, paid time off, ongoing professional development, licensing support, and performance-based incentives.
