What are remote motion graphics jobs?

Remote motion graphics jobs involve creating animated visuals, graphics, and effects for videos or digital media while working from a location outside a traditional office, often from home. Motion graphics artists use specialized software to design engaging animations for advertisements, films, television, web content, and more. The remote aspect allows professionals to collaborate with clients and teams online, offering flexibility in work environment and schedule. These roles typically require strong artistic skills, proficiency in motion graphics software, and the ability to communicate effectively with remote teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote motion graphics designer?

To thrive as a Remote Motion Graphics Designer, you need a solid background in graphic design, animation principles, and visual storytelling, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio of work. Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Cinema 4D is typically required. Strong communication, creativity, and time management skills help remote designers collaborate effectively and meet deadlines. These abilities ensure the delivery of engaging visual content that meets client objectives, even while working independently.

How does working remotely as a motion graphics designer impact collaboration with creative teams and project managers?

As a remote Motion Graphics Designer, you will regularly collaborate with creative teams and project managers through digital communication tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms. While you may not have in-person brainstorming sessions, sharing drafts, receiving feedback, and iterating on concepts is typically streamlined through cloud-based file sharing and scheduled virtual meetings. Maintaining clear communication and proactively asking for input helps overcome the challenge of distance, ensuring your creative vision aligns with the broader project goals. You'll often be expected to manage your own workflow, but frequent check-ins and collaborative reviews keep the team connected and productive.

Job description

We’re Jubilee Media.

At Jubilee, we're on a mission to provoke understanding and create human connection. We explore experiences that push people to feel more, think more, and see more in others. We challenge the belief of a black-and-white world, and instead embrace the complexity and richness of our experiences. By magnifying these stories we can discover personal identities, shared truths, and how we fit in the overarching human story. People are at the heart of everything we do, and we're looking for the next passionate teammate to join us on this journey. Together, we have the power to shift perspectives—and maybe even change the world.

About This Role
Jubilee Media is looking for a Freelance Motion Designer to build the motion graphics package for Nectar's short form content.

To be clear up front: this is not an editing role. You will not be cutting video. You'll be building reusable graphics templates that our editors drop into episodes themselves.

What You’ll Do

  • Translate static graphic designs from our design team into motion
  • Build them as reusable MOGRTs (Essential Graphics templates) that our editors can customize directly in Premiere
  • Apply sound design where it supports the motion, not everywhere
  • Deliver a package that holds up across a series rather than one-off animations

Who You Are

  • Strong motion work with a clear point of view on timing and rhythm
  • Real fluency with Premiere's Essential Graphics workflow, specifically building MOGRTs with properly exposed, editable controls
  • Experience designing for vertical short form (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) and an understanding of how graphics read at small sizes and fast speeds
  • Comfort working from someone else's static designs and extending them faithfully into motion
  • Ability to take a brief, ask the right questions once, and design something close

Compensation & Perks

  • Project rate –  $50-60 hourly
  • Collaborative work environment
  • Remote opportunity, LA-based is a plus for occasional in-person
