What is a remote mortgage field inspector?

A Remote Mortgage Field Inspector is responsible for assessing the condition of properties on behalf of mortgage lenders. They conduct exterior and sometimes interior inspections, take photos, and document property status to ensure it meets loan servicing requirements. These inspectors typically work as independent contractors, traveling to assigned locations and submitting reports digitally. Strong attention to detail, a reliable vehicle, and a smartphone or camera are essential for the role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote mortgage field inspector position, and why are they important?

A Remote Mortgage Field Inspector should possess a strong understanding of property inspection processes, attention to detail, and reliable transportation, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent.
