Job description

Job Title: Mid Level Cyber Security Engineer Location: Reston, VA Type: Contract Compensation: $68.18 Work Model: Remote (Need to be in the office 1 time/month) Hours: 40.0

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day support of security solutions to ensure continuous protection and compliance.
  • Support engineering and system administration of specialized cybersecurity solutions.
  • Solve complex problems and answer routine questions related to installation, operation, configuration, and customization of cybersecurity software.
  • Identify potential conflicts during the implementation of cybersecurity solutions and recommend resolutions.
  • Review and analyze system logs for performance and anomalies to maintain security integrity.
  • Collaborate with system design architects and project managers to define and implement security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant IT security experience; additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of education.
  • Hands-on experience with application security, secure SDLC, DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD automation.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, with focus on secure coding and vulnerability management.
  • Deep understanding of Linux/Windows OS, networking protocols, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with container security, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and cloud-native workload protection.
  • Familiarity with application security testing tools and vulnerability identification and remediation.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, source code management platforms, and security automation tools.
  • Hands-on experience securing AWS cloud environments.
  • Professional certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CISM are preferred.
