Key Responsibilities

  • Lead individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and systemic approaches.

  • Contribute to treatment planning discussions, case conferences, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Compile and complete necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner to comply with legal and ethical standards, including treatment notes, progress reports, and statistical records.
  • Oversee and mentor social work interns or student volunteers, providing guidance and support as they develop their clinical skills.
  • Participate in crisis interventions, coordinating support services as needed to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Engage in community outreach as assigned to promote mental health awareness and services offered by Selfcare Space.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As an LMFT at Selfcare Space, you will provide services to a varied client population. This includes children, adolescents, couples, and families dealing with a diverse range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and more. Your role will be vital in fostering a therapeutic alliance that encourages healing and personal growth.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California is required.
  • Strong clinical skills with an ability to establish rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment.
