In this full-time position, you will play a vital role in addressing the unique mental health needs of Black birthing families. You will be responsible for providing essential behavioral health services, performing assessments, conducting counseling sessions, and managing cases to foster holistic wellness. Your contributions will be instrumental in building a supportive community for families during their critical transitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver case management services that connect clients with community resources and referral networks, ensuring comprehensive care.
  • Consult regularly with members of the prenatal care team, including physicians and lactation consultants, to coordinate integrated services for clients.
  • Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups in conjunction with birth workers to enhance community support.
  • Engage in community outreach activities to promote mental health awareness and foster a nurturing environment for birthing individuals.
  • Stay actively involved in clinical consultations and multidisciplinary collaboration, contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, and session notes adhering to compliance standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on supporting Black birthing families, who often face unique challenges in accessing mental health resources and care. The role emphasizes cultural sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring that each individual and family receives tailored support that honors their heritage and experiences.

Qualifications
  • A masterโ€™s degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Current licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC in California.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse and interdisciplinary teams, maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
