Job description

Position Title: Sr/Manager Retail Merchandising
Duration: 4 Months + (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate: $52.75/hr on W2
Location: Remote
 General Function

The Retail Merchandising Senior Manager is responsible for the buying strategy, assortment planning, and allocation of Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories across retail stores and outlet locations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with global merchandising and category teams to support collection development by sharing regional retail needs and insights.
  • Develop assortment strategies and lead the end-to-end buying and allocation process in collaboration with global teams.
  • Share and align Smart Shopper assortment recommendations with global stakeholders.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising teams to coordinate product launches and field team activities.
  • Lead product buying debriefs with leadership and field teams and support product knowledge training materials.
  • Partner with Distribution Center teams to build drop calendars, manage allocations, and maintain appropriate replenishment levels.
  • Establish and maintain efficient communication processes between assortment execution teams, category teams, and global stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot product master data issues in partnership with master data management teams.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional merchandising activities and projects across the organization.
  • Support inventory-related projects including obsolete inventory management, transfers, reporting, and other inventory movement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations and Finance teams to support recurring business requests such as labor estimates and exclusion lists.
  • Support cross-functional teams with ad hoc product requests, including samples, events, public relations activities, and briefing materials.
  • Develop and manage reporting related to product performance and inventory.
  • Lead recurring product performance review meetings.
  • Manage end-of-season sales and markdown activities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Finance, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of retail planning, buying, and merchandising principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and merchandising/planning systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and related systems.
  • Understanding of finance and accounting principles with the ability to communicate merchandise-related financial plans and results.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail planning, buying, merchandising, or a related function.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with international teams and global projects.
  • Experience within the apparel, footwear, accessories, fashion, or retail industry.
