Fair Employment Practices Specialist - Remote

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $46.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fair Employment Practices Specialist to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws while leading investigations and supporting organizational risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex investigations related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment-related complaints (internal and external)
  • Gather and analyze evidence, interview involved parties, assess credibility, and prepare detailed investigative reports
  • Prepare position statements and responses for regulatory agencies such as EEOC and TWC
  • Partner with HR, legal counsel, leadership, and external agencies to resolve cases and ensure compliance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on employment laws and regulations (Title VII, Title IX, ADA, ADEA, etc.)
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs to support compliance and risk mitigation
  • Provide guidance and consultation to leadership on employee relations and compliance matters
  • Monitor regulatory changes and analyze legislative updates impacting employment practices
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and organizational information

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in employee relations, EEO investigations, or compliance
  • Hands-on experience conducting Title IX, EEO, or EEOC investigations required
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Experience preparing regulatory responses and participating in mediations
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual preferred
