About the Role:

As a Medical Director, you will provide scientific and medical direction and recommendations. You will work with senior members of the Inizio Evoke Medical team and will be responsible for incorporation of clinical, medical and scientific relevance, into our clients' brands' strategies and tactical executions.ย 

You will have a deep understanding of our clients' products (mechanisms, clinical data, competitive differentiators), the conditions they treat (disease mechanisms, epidemiology, standards of care), and relevant prescriber details (practice behaviors, prescribing decision-making process and trends). Together with senior Medical staff, you will work to derive actionable insights from this knowledge.ย 

You will work with senior Medical staff, client service, strategic services and creative staff. You will strive to develop excellence in training junior agency staff on product mechanisms, interacting with clients and interviewing external professionals.ย 

You will be a remote employee reporting to a Senior Vice President, Medical Strategy.

You will:

  • Maintain expert understanding of clients' product approved Prescribing Information, as well as those from relevant competitive medicationsย 
  • Monitor relevant disease categories for current publications or updates to labelingย 
  • Develop skills in identification of actionable scientific, clinical insights for use in medical strategyย 
  • Assist in the development of market research plans and other insight gathering exercisesย 
  • Brief creative teams and oversee creative deliverables to ensure they align with medical/clinical insights and strategic guidanceย 
  • Provide medical and scientific direction for specific projects, including identification of relevant data sets and recommendations on both copy and visual representations of dataย 
  • Review content for medical and scientific accuracyย 
  • Provide ongoing training and education for internal staff membersย 
  • Support senior Medical staff in new business opportunities as neededย 
  • Contribute to agency thought leadership activitiesย 

You will bring:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences: PhD or MD (preferred) - may consider PharmDย 
  • 4+ years of experience in a healthcare communications agency, medical education, medical communications company, or pharmaceutical manufacturerย 
  • Experience translating scientific or clinical data into presentation formatsย 
  • Experience in live presentation of scientific or clinical results to various audience typesย 
  • Experience interacting with leading researchers and other professionals in the biomedical/pharmaceutical industryย 
  • Authorship in peer-reviewed publications, or presentation of abstracts at major scientific/medical conferences preferred
  • Expert written, verbal communication and presentation skillsย 
  • Understanding of biochemical mechanisms, clinical research, and statistical analysesย 
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical marketing and details of promotional complianceย 
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team memberย
