Role Overview

As a Transmission Line Engineer, you will help design, analyze, and deliver critical transmission infrastructure projects that support the reliability, resilience, and modernization of the electric grid. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will apply engineering expertise to overhead transmission line projects from planning and design through construction support and project closeout. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, supporting utility clients, and contributing to the safe delivery of power across the communities we serve.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Perform engineering studies, line ratings, structure loading analyses, routing evaluations, and design calculations in support of transmission projects.
  • Conduct field visits for line inspections, asset assessments, site evaluations, and construction support activities.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including design packages, cost estimates, material specifications, construction documents, bid packages, and as-built drawings.
  • Collaborate with civil, structural, substation, environmental, permitting, real estate, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance, participate in design reviews, and support quality assurance and quality control efforts.
  • Support client relationships and business development efforts through proposal preparation, scope development, scheduling input, and technical presentations.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transmission line engineering and design.
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD and familiarity with other PLS software applications, including PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER.
  • Working knowledge of NESC, ASCE, and applicable utility design standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to access construction sites and transmission rights-of-way while utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Prior utility or engineering consulting experience is preferred.
  • CAD or drafting experience is a plus.

Work Environment & Preferences
