Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough utilization reviews for insurance purposes, ensuring that all necessary clinical information is submitted to secure initial and ongoing authorizations.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with family members, returning calls and emails promptly—within two hours during business hours and within 24 hours at all other times—to ensure engagement in the treatment process.
  • Collaborate with the Utilization Review and Business Departments to navigate authorization challenges and payments, thereby ensuring a smooth operational flow.
  • Establish and maintain continuity of care through effective communication with referral sources and outpatient providers throughout the patient's admission, midpoint, and discharge processes.
  • Begin discharge planning on the day of admission, culminating in thorough discharge sessions with patients. Ensure coping strategies and transition plans are clearly understood and that follow-up appointments are confirmed prior to discharge.
  • Skillfully manage crises as they arise during sessions, providing guidance and support to both patients and milieu staff while upholding the highest standard of care and clinical quality.
  • Complete all required clinical documentation in a timely manner, reinforcing accountability and compliance within the treatment process.
  • Develop therapeutic rapport with patients and their families, conducting detailed assessments for risks such as suicidality or potential harm.
  • Conduct admission assessments thoughtfully, ensuring a welcoming environment for new patients, and actively participate in clinical outreach as necessary.
  • Engage in weekly treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and contribute towards collective treatment goals, while supporting other clinical team members as needed.
