What remote jobs can I do with a remote MBA?

These positions often require strong communication skills, proficiency with collaboration tools, and the ability to manage teams or projects remotely.

What is a remote MBA?

A remote MBA is a Master of Business Administration degree program that is delivered entirely online, allowing students to complete coursework from anywhere with internet access. These programs are designed for working professionals and individuals who need flexibility in their schedules. Remote MBAs typically offer the same curriculum and accreditation as traditional, on-campus MBA programs, and often include online lectures, virtual group projects, and interactive assignments. Some programs may also provide opportunities for networking and career support virtually. This format enables students to balance their studies with personal and professional commitments.

How does working as a remote MBA professional typically involve collaboration with teams across different time zones?

As a Remote MBA professional, you will frequently collaborate with colleagues, clients, or stakeholders located in various regions and time zones. This often requires flexible scheduling, proactive communication, and the use of digital collaboration tools such as video conferencing, project management platforms, and shared documents. Successful remote team members are adaptable and skilled at setting clear expectations for deliverables and updates, which helps ensure smooth teamwork and project progress regardless of location differences. Building strong virtual relationships and maintaining regular check-ins are also key strategies to overcome the challenges of remote, cross-time-zone collaboration.

What are remote jobs that require an MBA degree?

Remote MBA (Master of Business Administration) jobs include a variety of positions that handle management responsibilities for a company or organization in a work-from-home role. An MBA degree offers a variety of possible opportunities, including jobs like consulting or direct management of staff. Businesses with a large number of employees who work in the same office typically do not employ remote managers, although companies may offer this position if they have many other remote workers. Instead, you may find remote MBA jobs that involve using virtual management software to direct an entirely virtual team. Many details of this job depend on your industry—for example, some remote managers help to proofread and edit written content while other MBA professionals direct product shipments, supervise a customer service team, or perform other virtual management tasks.

Job description

HiFyve is hiring a Paylocity Benefits Administration Implementation Specialist for a Manufacturing company!

Compensation: $65-$85/hour (Depending on experience)

Schedule: 6-Month Contract | Days

Location: Remote

Benefits: N/A (Contract Position)

About the Role

This six-month contract role will lead the implementation of Paylocity's Benefits Administration module while managing the organization's transition to a new benefits broker and multiple benefits vendors. This individual will serve as the primary implementation lead, owning the project from planning through post-go-live stabilization. The ideal candidate has successfully completed Paylocity Benefits Administration implementations, understands benefits carrier integrations and EDI processes, and thrives in a highly hands-on environment with minimal oversight.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Paylocity Benefits Administration module from project kickoff through post-go-live support.
  • Develop and manage project plans, implementation timelines, milestones, deliverables, and overall project execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Paylocity implementation consultants, benefits brokers, insurance carriers, and third-party vendors.
  • Configure and validate benefit plans, eligibility rules, enrollment workflows, life event processing, and carrier connections within Paylocity.
  • Coordinate the transition from the current benefits broker to a new broker while ensuring minimal disruption to employees.
  • Manage implementation activities for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA, HSA, 401(k), and other employee benefit programs.
  • Lead carrier integrations, EDI implementation, file mapping, testing, validation, and ongoing file management activities.
  • Coordinate system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), issue resolution, and production readiness activities.
  • Audit employee eligibility, dependent information, enrollment data, and carrier files to ensure data integrity throughout implementation.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, system issues, and implementation risks before go-live.
  • Create process maps, workflows, implementation documentation, standard operating procedures, and administration guides.
  • Document system configurations, implementation decisions, business requirements, and future-state processes.
  • Coordinate implementation activities supporting open enrollment, including timelines, communications, testing, and employee experience validation.
  • Partner with vendors and consultants to ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and applicable benefits regulations.
  • Provide regular project status updates, risk assessments, and implementation progress reports to HR leadership.
  • Develop knowledge transfer documentation and train internal HR stakeholders on future administration processes.
  • Support post-go-live stabilization, issue resolution, and project closeout activities to ensure a successful implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP certification required.
  • 5+ years of experience leading benefits administration, HRIS, or benefits implementation projects.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing the Paylocity Benefits Administration module, including system configuration, testing, carrier connectivity, and go-live support.
  • Experience serving as the primary implementation lead responsible for executing—not simply overseeing—a benefits administration implementation.
  • Experience managing benefits broker transitions and coordinating multiple vendor implementations.
  • Strong experience with carrier integrations, EDI implementation, file mapping, testing, validation, and file management.
  • Experience supporting open enrollment implementations and benefits system deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration, eligibility rules, enrollment processes, and carrier connections.
  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and employee benefits compliance requirements.
  • Experience creating process documentation, SOPs, workflows, and implementation guides.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, or similar project management software.
  • Ability to independently manage complex implementation projects from planning through successful completion with minimal supervision.
