About the Position

More Perfect Union is seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our team as Creator Video Lead. The Creator Video Lead will support our rapidly growing contributor program and play a key role in developing our strategy for identifying and cultivating new talent. They must have strong editorial judgement and social media skills, understand More Perfect Union’s mission, and be excited about building a bench of creators and influencers to build power for working people.

The Creator Video Lead will act as a primary point of contact for our network of creators in the video production process. They will work with creators to sharpen their production skills, develop pitches, and produce compelling vertical videos each week that connect with a broad audience and expand MPU’s reach. Additionally, they will help with discovering new creators to work with MPU and support a talent development process to allow creators to progressively strengthen their partnership with us.

  • Oversee production of 2-3 original vertical videos by creators per week, including: workshopping pitches, refining scripts, and giving feedback to editors during post-production;
  • Draft engaging social media copy, titles, and text on screen to complement these videos and maximize viewer interest;
  • Collaborate with the social media team on distribution strategy for creator videos, including identifying crossposting opportunities;
  • Analyze and report out contributor content metrics, including impact on MPU’s audience growth and viewership, on a weekly basis;
  • In collaboration with the Creator Talent Lead, train and mentor new and existing creators in best practices for video production, editorial alignment, storytelling and other skills;
  • Ensure a high standard for accuracy, timeliness, and relevance to MPU’s audience for all creator-driven content;
  • Work with teammates to conceptualize and execute strategies to grow More Perfect Union’s audience, especially on TikTok;
  • Manage and negotiate contracts for creator projects and manage influencer-related communication;
  • Identify trends and campaigns in the creator space that align with MPU’s mission and translate observations into action;
  • Collaborate with the Creator Talent Lead to provide support and additional capacity for their areas of responsibility, as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.
