Make a meaningful impact on national security by supporting the Space Development Agency (SDA) in delivering the Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) software development and hosting environment for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). These systems accelerate the secure development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical space applications that enable Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2).
SAIC has an immediate opening for a Senior Principal Software Engineer experienced in software and hardware development, integration, operations, and maintenance for space and ground systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance U.S. national security. The position is fully remote.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting BMC3 software development for the PWSA, ensuring effective integration of cloud-hosted environments with mission-critical space applications.
  • Drive all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop and optimize the secure software hosting environment to ensure high performance and resilience for SDA's mission applications.
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership in the integration of software components, ensuring compatibility with both space and ground system architectures.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues in development, testing, and operational environments, including addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and mission-critical system challenges.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements that enhance capabilities and system security.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative culture that emphasizes innovation and technical growth.

Qualifications
