Remote Masters Accounting information

What is a remote masters accounting professional?

A Remote Masters Accountant is a professional with a master's degree in accounting who works remotely rather than in a traditional office setting. They handle tasks such as preparing financial statements, managing budgets, overseeing audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards—all from a remote location. This role often involves using cloud-based accounting software and secure communication tools to collaborate with clients or colleagues. Remote Masters Accountants can work for accounting firms, corporations, or as independent consultants, offering flexibility and access to a broader range of clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote masters accounting professional?

To excel as a Remote Masters Accounting professional, you should have advanced knowledge of accounting principles, a master's degree in accounting or related field, and often a CPA or similar certification. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, as well as familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools, is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are crucial for accurate reporting and remote teamwork. These competencies ensure compliance, data integrity, and effective collaboration in a virtual accounting environment.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals in a remote masters accounting role and how can they be managed?

Professionals in a remote Masters Accounting role often encounter challenges such as maintaining clear communication with team members, managing time effectively across different time zones, and staying updated on rapidly changing accounting standards. To manage these, it's important to leverage collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams, establish a structured daily routine, and participate in regular virtual meetings. Additionally, proactively seeking professional development and staying connected with industry updates helps ensure accuracy and compliance in your work.

Job description

About Turing:
Based in San Francisco, California, Turing is the world’s leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems. Turing supports customers in two ways: first, by accelerating frontier research with high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, plus top AI researchers who specialize in coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, multimodality, and agents; and second, by applying that expertise to help enterprises transform AI from proof of concept into proprietary intelligence with systems that perform reliably, deliver measurable impact, and drive lasting results on the P&L.

Role Overview:
Turing is looking for Private Equity professionals to work with our researchers to improve the performance of AI models. You will apply your expertise in deal sourcing, due diligence, LBO analysis, and portfolio value creation to evaluate and train AI systems. If you enjoy solving complex problems in private equity and are interested in shaping the future of AI in finance, please apply. No prior AI experience is required.

What Does Day-to-Day Look Like:
  • Evaluate LLM models on private equity topics such as LBO structuring, deal screening, operational value creation, and exit strategy analysis.
  • Create rubrics to assess model capabilities on tasks like fund return modeling (IRR, MOIC), due diligence frameworks, and portfolio company analysis.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and fellow finance experts to shape training methods, evaluation strategies, and benchmarks.

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in Private Equity (e.g., buyout funds, growth equity, distressed investing, or PE-focused advisory).
  • Strong grasp of LBO modeling, deal evaluation, portfolio company management, and fund economics.
  • Excellent English written communication.

Bonuses (Not at All Necessary):
  • CFA (Level I/II/III), CPA, or MBA in Finance.
  • Perks of Freelancing with Turing:
    • Work on the cutting edge of AI and finance.
    • Fully remote and flexible work environment.
    • Competitive hourly compensation of ~$100+/hour depending on experience.

Offer Details:
  • Commitment: Flexible, 10–30 hrs/week.
  • Duration: ~1 month, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
