Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies for individuals, couples, families, and groups, fostering engagement and positive outcomes.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based techniques and interventions to address varied mental health concerns.
  • Continuously monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, ensuring a holistic approach to client care.
  • Provide education and support to clientsโ€™ family members and primary caregivers, helping them understand and manage associated behavioral challenges.
  • Stay current on advancements in mental health therapies and best practices, integrating new techniques into your counseling approach.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will directly impact a diverse client base, including children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to more complex psychological disorders. The flexibility of remote work allows you to support clients from various locations, ensuring accessibility to crucial mental health resources.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required; a Master's or Doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Current licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems, specifically AVATAR.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on empathetic engagement with clients.
  • In-depth understanding of behavioral and mental health dynamics, including addiction disorders and the implications of psychiatric medications.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience delivering mental health counseling in a clinic or community health setting.
