Job description

Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for championing the implementation of Agile-MBSE best practices, empowering programs across our Sector with the latest MBSE training and providing technical guidance on model development and process implementation. The Senior MBSE's expertise will be instrumental in driving our transition to a Digital Enterprise (DE), where virtual and cloud-based networks are redefining the boundaries of traditional engineering.
Responsibilities will require:
  • Utilize knowledge of MBSE processes, practices, tools, and related modeling languages and frameworks (e.g. SysML, UML, UAF) to solve complex technical problems
  • Guide a program in their total MBSE development activities
  • Collaborate with project teams and leadership to contribute to the development of MBSE training materials and company best practices

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Must be a US citizen and possess a Secret level clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field and 8+ years experience in Systems Engineering or Masters Degree in STEM field and 6+ years experience in Systems Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience building models and developing modeling strategies using MBSE methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Strong technical skills in MBSE, including:
    • Experience with MagicDraw/Cameo and associated plug-ins
    • Proficiency in UML, SysML, and other relevant modeling languages and frameworks
    • Ability to create specialized searches, and analyze problems through MBSE models
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • Ability to contribute to the development of MBSE training materials, best practices, and processes, and guide programs in their total MBSE development activities.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Working knowledge of Cloud technologies and platform services, e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Directly built 3-5 full scale models including parametric functions and simulation execution
  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies and task management tools (e.g. Jira)
  • Experienced in Modeling, Simulation, Visualization and Analysis (MSVA)
  • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI)
  • Familiar with Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) and Autonomy solutions
  • Experienced working in all phases of the engineering product development lifecycle
  • Classroom and on-the-job teaching experience
  • Training material development
  • EW Experience

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $72150 - $122655
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
