The Consultant, Data Solution Analyst role is a hands-on builder and problem-solver supporting the Office of the Chief Legal Officer (OCLO). This position turns OCLO's data, reporting, and workflow needs into practical solutions that help attorneys, paralegals, and operations partners work more efficiently and make better decisions. The role focuses on how OCLO applies approved data, visualization, and automation tools to its unique legal and risk use cases.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical delivery with a consultative mindset and is experienced in partnering with business stakeholders to shape data and automation strategy and translate it into practical, sustainable solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Consult with OCLO business partners to understand their data, reporting, and workflow needs, translating questions and ideas into actionable solution requirements.
  • Design, build, and iterate on reporting, visualization, and automation solutions using approved enterprise technologies, ensuring they are scalable and maintainable.
  • Help drive training and learning by coaching OCLO associates on self-service analytics, data literacy, and the effective use of new tools and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot business partner project issues by examining data flows, logic, and interfaces to diagnose problems and recommend practical fixes.
  • Collaborate closely with your team and the broader OCLO Operations team to ensure solutions align with data quality, security, and governance expectations.

As a Data Solution Analyst, you'll translate functional data and analytic requirements into solutions for consumption and use by the respective business or technology request or leveraging a variety of approved technologies. The technologies include (but are not limited to) Paxata, Tableau, Micro strategy, Business Objects, R, or other reporting and visualization solutions being considered for operationalization. You'll also have the opportunity to guide others to leverage self-service techniques for business reporting and analytics.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prompts reporting and analytic requirements from business and technology requestors to generate visualization or analysis.

  • Implements data requirements, reporting and practices for an assigned area.

  • Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Creates and executes visualization techniques.

  • Uses moderate visualization and analysis techniques to present findings of data exploration exercises to stakeholders based on requirements gleaned.

  • Maps the flow of data and the business processes and/or technical interfaces which would be created or impacted and recommends solutions/adaptations.

  • Collaborates with others to implement standardized data reporting, analytics, and visualization tools.

  • Recommends and leads change in data analytics, methodologies and tools.

  • Collaborates on profiling, mapping, and modeling tools.

  • Partners with others on projects requiring data visualization.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director Data Leader.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, business, statistics, math, a related field or comparable experience and education strongly preferred. Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or a related field are a plus.

License/Certification/Designation: Certifications are not required but encouraged.

Experience: Five to eight years of relevant experience with data management/ organization/ analytics or practices. Experience in engaging business leaders, data architects and external consultants to identify and fill gaps in analytics environment. Wide experience in using data modeling and data science tools. Experience with self-service analytic techniques. Experience in application of data acquisition and data wrangling. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Data application and practices knowledge. Solid oral and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships, facilitate meetings and influence others.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager's leader and HR Business Partner.
