The Primary Responsibilities of the Licensed Mental Health Counselor include:

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments to determine clients' mental health conditions and specific needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans utilizing a mix of traditional therapeutic approaches and innovative methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Provide remote counseling sessions to individuals, couples, families, and groups, adapting based on clinical needs and logistical circumstances.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date client records, documenting all therapy sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes according to professional standards.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance therapeutic skills and integrate the latest research and therapeutic practices into your sessions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Promote a supportive therapeutic environment by conducting group therapy sessions and support groups for clients facing similar challenges.
• Uphold confidential practices, adhering to ethical guidelines and all applicable legal requirements.

This role focuses on supporting diverse client populations, particularly those affected by cancer and other chronic illnesses. You will offer critical psychosocial support to patients at various stages of their treatment journey, providing comfort, coping strategies, and therapeutic care to both individuals and their families.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current licensure as a mental health counselor in accordance with state regulations (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• A commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in mental health practice.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with clients and their families compassionately.

While not required, the following experiences are preferred:

• Experience working in telehealth settings and familiarity with virtual counseling tools.
• A background in oncology mental health or experience providing support to patients with chronic illnesses.
• Demonstrated history of collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
