Strategy & Management Consulting

Financial Institutions have drastically changed over the last decade, driven by increased regulatory constraints, diverse competition inside and beyond traditional banking organizations, and emerging technologies reshaping long-standing ecosystems.  Sia’s Financial Services Business Unit provides a comprehensive suite of core capabilities designed to address the diverse and evolving needs of our clients, enabling them to navigate complex challenges, seize new opportunities, and achieve their strategic objectives in an increasingly competitive and dynamic business environment.

Job Description

As a Senior Manager supporting our Payments practice, you will lead client engagements focused on treasury services and cash management transformation, including product strategy, operating model design, process optimization, platform modernization, and end-to-end implementation across banks, fintechs, and other financial services organizations.

The ideal candidate combines deep Treasury Services, Cash Management and Payments expertise for Wholesale Banking customers with a consulting and transformation mindset. Candidates should have experience advising senior stakeholders, diagnosing business and operating model challenges, designing future-state capabilities, and leading complex transformation initiatives from strategy through implementation.

This role is best suited for candidates who have used their Treasury Services, Cash Management, and Payments expertise to transform businesses, products, platforms, and operating models rather than experience concentrated primarily on managing steady-state operations.

Responsibilities

In this role, you are expected to:

  • Demonstrate Treasury Services & Cash Management Expertise: Bring strong working knowledge of treasury and transaction banking products and services offered to corporate and commercial clients, including liquidity management, cash positioning, wires, ACH, lockbox, receivables, remote deposit capture, account structures, real-time payments, commercial cards, and working capital solutions.

  • Lead Treasury Services Transformation & Implementation Delivery: Lead client engagements from strategy through execution, including current-state assessments, target operating model design, process transformation, platform selection, requirements definition, vendor integration, client onboarding, data migration, testing, implementation, and go-live.

  • Apply Knowledge of Treasury Platforms & Technology: Understand how banks design, configure, integrate, and modernize treasury and payments platforms, including onboarding workflows, entitlements, reporting, APIs, ISO 20022, SWIFT and NACHA formats, payments hubs, and integration with core banking and legacy environments.

  • Translate Product & Technology Concepts into Business Solutions: Explain complex treasury, payments, and technology concepts in a clear, practical way for senior business, product, operations, technology, risk, and regulatory stakeholders while translating strategic objectives into executable solutions and measurable business outcomes.

  • Navigate Regulatory, Risk & Control Considerations: Understand the regulatory and control environment surrounding treasury services and payments, including operational risk, fraud prevention, compliance, resiliency, data and security considerations, and relevant industry and regulatory requirements.

  • Shape Client Solutions & Delivery Approaches: Support clients in defining treasury and payments strategies, product roadmaps, business cases, operating models, implementation approaches, platform and vendor evaluations, RFPs, testing strategies, and adoption plans.

  • Drive Business Development: Identify, develop, and expand client opportunities through account knowledge, cross-selling, proposal development, commercial discussions, thought leadership, and relationship building across new and existing clients while contributing to originated and managed revenue targets.

  • Coach & Develop Teams: Lead multidisciplinary consulting teams, supervise, mentor, and evaluate consultants and managers, set clear goals, provide feedback, address team challenges, and contribute to recruiting and capability-building efforts.

  • Contribute to Firm Leadership: Share knowledge and best practices, strengthen Sia’s Treasury Services & Cash Management capabilities, support internal initiatives, represent Sia externally, and serve as a role model for consultants through professionalism, ownership, and leadership by example

Qualifications

These qualifications are intended to reflect what may help a candidate succeed as an Senior Manager at Sia. We recognize that candidates may not meet every qualification listed, and we encourage you to apply if you are excited about the role, eager to learn, and believe you can contribute to our teams and clients.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Engineering or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

  • Relevant Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience across Financial Services, including significant management consulting, advisory, transformation, product strategy, or complex implementation experience within Treasury Services, Cash Management, Transaction Banking or Payments; candidates should demonstrate a track record of leading change and building future-state capabilities, rather than experience concentrated primarily in business-as-usual operations.

  • Consulting & Transformation Experience: Demonstrated experience advising clients or senior business stakeholders, structuring ambiguous problems, developing recommendations, designing future-state solutions and leading complex initiatives through implementation. Prior management consulting or comparable client-facing advisory experience is strongly preferred.

  • Treasury Domain Expertise: Direct working knowledge of Treasury Services and Cash Management products, digital experience, business models, processes and client needs across areas such as liquidity management, payments, receivables, account services, real-time payments, commercial cards and working capital.

  • Transformation & Implementation Experience: Demonstrated experience designing, transforming, implementing or modernizing Treasury and Payments products, platforms, processes, operating models or capabilities, with experience spanning multiple stages of the transformation lifecycle.

  • Platform & Technology Understanding: Familiarity with Treasury and Payments technology environments and relevant industry solutions such as FIS, Finastra, Bottomline, ACI Worldwide, Volante, Kyriba, GTreasury, ION or comparable platforms.

  • Consulting Skillset: Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, structured problem solving, delivery leadership, attention to detail, ownership, teamwork, and the ability to lead complex transformation initiatives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
