Job description

New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a client located in Houston to join our team. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Schedule:Remote - Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST


Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's corporate accounting function, including financial reporting, analysis, accounts payable, and general ledger activities. This role supports leadership by providing accurate financial data, managing the monthly close process, and assisting with business performance evaluation and growth initiatives. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Financial Reporting Manager.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including consolidation, reporting, and analysis while ensuring GAAP compliance
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions
  • Maintain and organize monthly close binders with supporting documentation
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries, ensuring proper approvals and accuracy
  • Analyze and record expense accruals such as payroll, benefits, vacation, and operational expenses
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reports
  • Generate ad hoc reports to support leadership decision-making and company performance analysis
  • Research and document complex or unusual accounting transactions; prepare accounting memos as needed
  • Respond to inquiries regarding financial transactions and resolve discrepancies
  • Support acquisition accounting activities, including reviewing reporting packages and recording monthly activity
  • Assist with ERP system processes and transitions for newly acquired entities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Identify and support process improvements within the accounting function
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
  • 3-5+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (Great Plains, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and handle complex tasks
