Job description

About the Role
As a Senior Sales Engineer at Teramind, you serve as both a hands-on technical consultant and a player-coach for our growing Solution Engineering team. This hybrid role blends solution architecture, technical sales, and cross-functional leadership — perfect for someone who wants to shape both customer outcomes and team excellence. You'll work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure enterprise customers realize the full value of Teramind's platform, while also mentoring team members, scaling pre-sales processes, and driving technical consistency across the organization. This is the ideal role for a technically fluent communicator who thrives in customer-facing engagements and has a passion for coaching others.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales & Technical Engagement
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations and presentations aligned to customer use cases: insider threat detection, DLP, user behavior analytics (UBA), and workforce intelligence.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand prospect environments, pain points, security stack, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX, GDPR).
  • Own and execute proof-of-value (POV) and proof-of-concept (POC) engagements — including environment setup, endpoint agent configuration, and success criteria alignment.
  • Assist prospects with deployment planning across on-premise, cloud (SaaS), and private cloud architectures.
  • Configure APIs and troubleshoot complex deployment and integration issues during evaluations.
  • Potential travel: 20%
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the full sales cycle as the primary technical resource.
  • Relay market intelligence, feature gaps, and competitive insights to Product and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success on handoffs to ensure smooth post-sale onboarding.
  • Build and contribute to reusable demo environments, battle cards, architecture diagrams, and technical collateral.
  • Document deployment best practices and onboarding guides to promote consistency across the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Background
  • 3+ years in a Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Solutions Consulting role within a B2B SaaS company.
  • Proven ability to support technical evaluations for mid-market to enterprise accounts.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, including command-line usage and server administration.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and SaaS deployment models.
  • Familiarity with endpoint agents, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), Docker, and PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to configure APIs and troubleshoot complex deployment or integration issues.
  • Exposure to scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for basic automation tasks.
Communication & Leadership
  • Strong written and verbal English (Spanish is a plus) communication skills; able to engage both technical and executive audiences.
  • Consultative and value-driven approach to customer interactions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple active evaluations and stakeholders simultaneously.
Tools & Systems
  • Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Lucidchart or Visio preferred.
  • Experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM is a plus.
  • Cybersecurity or DLP platform experience (Teramind, Proofpoint ITM, DTEX, Varonis, Forcepoint) is a plus
