Job description

Job Title: Designer Location: Amery, Wisconsin Type: 8 month Contract Compensation: $30.00 - $31.50 per hour Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote

Responsibilities • Create, update, and revise sketches, working drawings, and contract documents using SmallWorld GIS software or manual drafting methods to meet customer requirements. • Prepare 2D and 3D models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. • Read and interpret detailed customer requirements, data sheets, and supplier specifications. • Collaborate with project engineering, architectural, or technical services staff to complete assignments under supervisor guidance. • Design and manage electric distribution projects for new and existing customers, including transformer sizing, underground cable routing, and pole placement. • Conduct field assessments and customer interactions as part of project management responsibilities. • Prepare documentation to support design drawings, including bills of material and schedules. • Assist engineering personnel with formal drawing transmittals and construction issues. • Check SAP for new customer contacts, participate in weekly scheduling meetings, and conduct team touchpoints. • Perform a mix of field visits to residential, commercial, and construction sites, adhering to standard safety protocols.

Requirements • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Organizational and project management abilities. • Basic electrical knowledge or background. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. • GIS or AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required. • People skills, a desire to learn, adaptability, and independence. • No specific degree required; open to various backgrounds including construction, call center, police, etc. • Experience in electrical or utility fields is a plus. • No certifications required.
