Job description

If so, the Program and Support Unit is excited to announce an opening for a Departmental Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be part of a dynamic support group responsible for maintaining and continually improving the Bureau's Quality Assurance and Training functions.

Position Description Treasury Careers (michigan.gov)- Learn more about why Treasury is a Great Place to Work.   Required Education and Experience Education Education typically acquired through completion of high school Experience Departmental Technician 7 One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service. Departmental Technician 8 One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service

OR One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service. Departmental Technician E9 One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.

OR Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service. Alternate Education and Experience Departmental Technician 7 Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement. Departmental Technician 8 Possession of a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Departmental Technician E9 Possession of a Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement. Additional Requirements and Information Please attach a cover letter, detailed resume, and, if applicable, a copy of your official college transcript(s) to your application. For our purposes, "official college transcripts" must contain the college/university name and address, the degree conferred, and date granted, coursework completed (especially if no degree granted), and the Registrar's signature and/or seal.

Official Transcripts. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. To perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you currently reside outside of the State of Michigan, you must commute to Michigan to perform the responsibilities and duties of this position at your official work location.

Remote Work. To perform the duties and responsibilities of this position, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you are a State of Michigan resident, this position is eligible to work remotely.

Additional onsite work may be required. Additionally, the selected candidate must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions while performing the duties of this position, as well as secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Remote work arrangements are subject to management approval and may be adjusted or discontinued at any time.

Interviews. Interviews may occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary, as instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview.

Fingerprinting. This position has a FTINPRINT sub-class code. The sub-class code indicates the position has access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and requires passing of a fingerprint-based background check per IRS Publication 1075.
