You're good at

  • Advancedknowledge of Linux-based operating systems
  • Advancedknowledge of Networking
  • Experience using various cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCloud, Digital Ocean)
  • Debugging problems with Unix based operating systems and IP based networking at a very low level.
  • No problems working in either RHEL or Debian based linux distributions
  • Good knowledge and experience with:
    • Debugging container based workloads, and their runtime tooling (LXC/D, Docker, Podman)
    • Container orchestration systems (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc.)
    • Linux based hypervisor systems and related tooling (KVM, Xen/XCP-ng, Proxmox, etc.)
  • Good scripting skills with Bash and Python
  • 5+ years experience doing the items above


Extra awesome

  • You've worked at a company that does Linux consulting, or you've done this as a contractor
  • You've used a ticketing system like ConnectWise or some other tool to manage tickets and track time
  • Performance tuning, debugging, and clustering of Linux based Database Systems (MySQL, Postgresql, SQLite) and SQL in general
  • High level networking skills - Campus / Enterprise networking, VLANS, VPNS, Managed switches, Overlay networks, Dynamic routing protocols.
  • Software development experience in various languages
  • Certifications on our platforms and products (AWS, Azure, K8S, RHEL, and the like)
  • 2-year technical diploma (CIS or CS) or greater


What you'll do

  • Communicate and handle client requests
  • Handling client system alerts
  • Conducting client system patching and health checks
  • Performing deployments via our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Onboard new clients and create roadmaps for improving their infrastructure
  • Time tracking for all hours worked
  • Some afterhours will be required
