Remote Life Insurance Sales Agent
Georgia Applicants Prioritized | Licensed Agents Nationwide Considered
The Weatherspoon Agency is expanding its remote insurance team and is seeking motivated individuals who want to build a career helping working families understand and secure supplemental life and accident-benefit coverage. We provide all the warm sales leads at no cost to all agents.
Our primary recruiting focus is Georgia. We also consider currently licensed life insurance agents residing in other eligible U.S. states. Unlicensed applicants outside Georgia may be considered individually based on current state needs, licensing availability, and contracting eligibility.
This is a remote, commission-only, 1099 independent contractor insurance sales opportunity. It is not a salaried or hourly position.
Important Compensation Disclosure
This position provides:
- Commission-based compensation
- Annual renewal income based on sales and tenure
- No hourly wage
- No base salary
- No guaranteed minimum income
- No paid training
- No traditional W-2 employee benefits
- Potential production bonuses and incentives when qualification requirements are met
At a production level of approximately three issued-and-paid sales per week, new agents have historically earned approximately $1,200–$1,400 in gross weekly commissions during their first 90 days.
This example is provided to explain how the commission structure may perform at a specific production level. It is not a promise or guarantee of earnings. Actual compensation varies based on individual activity, sales results, policy placement, carrier approval, persistency, chargebacks, and other factors. Independent contractors are responsible for their own taxes and business-related expenses.
Who We Are Looking For
We are currently considering candidates in the following order:
1. Georgia Residents
Georgia is our primary growth market.
We welcome applications from:
- Currently licensed Georgia life insurance agents
- Georgia residents willing and eligible to obtain a life insurance license
- Experienced sales or customer-service professionals
- Career changers who are comfortable learning a performance-based sales role
- Self-directed individuals interested in long-term advancement
Applicants may reside anywhere in Georgia because the position is performed remotely.
2. Licensed Agents in Other States
Currently licensed life insurance agents residing outside Georgia may apply from any U.S. state where our carrier and agency are authorized to recruit, appoint, and conduct business.
Consideration is subject to:
- Verification of an active insurance license
- State and carrier availability
- Appointment eligibility
- Background and compliance review
- The ability to transfer or terminate conflicting appointments when required
- Completion of our contracting and onboarding process
3. Unlicensed Applicants Outside Georgia
Unlicensed out-of-state applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Acceptance depends on:
- Current recruiting needs in the applicant’s state
- Availability of licensing and appointment opportunities
- The applicant’s ability to complete state licensing requirements
- Carrier and agency contracting eligibility
- Training-class capacity
Submitting an application does not guarantee that an unlicensed opportunity is currently available in every state.
Exclusive Agency Requirement
This is an exclusive, captive insurance opportunity.
Agents who contract and become appointed through our agency must be eligible to enter an exclusive relationship with us. A candidate who is currently appointed with another insurance carrier, brokerage, or agency may be required to terminate or transfer conflicting appointments before contracting.
Once appointed, agents may not simultaneously represent competing life insurance carriers or agencies unless specific written authorization is provided.
Applicants who want to remain independent brokers representing multiple competing carriers should not apply.
What You Will Do
As a Remote Life Insurance Sales Agent, you will:
- Contact individuals and families who have requested information or have access to eligible benefit programs
- Conduct telephone and video-based consultations
- Schedule and complete virtual appointments
- Identify a family’s insurance and financial-protection needs
- Explain available life, supplemental health, and accident-benefit options
- Help applicants complete electronic insurance applications
- Follow up on pending applications and underwriting requirements
- Maintain accurate records in agency systems
- Complete required compliance and product training
- Protect confidential applicant and policyholder information
- Maintain all required licenses, appointments, and continuing education
- Develop referrals and long-term client relationships
This is not a door-to-door sales position. Client conversations and appointments are conducted remotely by telephone and video conference.
The role does require consistent telephone outreach, follow-up, appointment setting, and direct insurance sales activity.
Licensing Requirements
A state-issued life insurance license is required before an agent may solicit, discuss, recommend, or sell insurance.
You may apply if you are:
- Already licensed and in good standing; or
- A Georgia resident willing and eligible to complete the licensing process; or
- An unlicensed applicant in another state who is selected for case-by-case consideration
Unlicensed candidates must successfully complete all applicable pre-licensing education, examination, fingerprinting, background, application, and state approval requirements before performing licensed activity.
Candidates may be responsible for licensing courses, examinations, fingerprints, application fees, technology, and other startup expenses unless a different arrangement is provided in writing.
An offer to continue through the interview or training process is not a guarantee that a state license or carrier appointment will be approved.

- Product and compliance education
- Sales-process training
- Script and presentation practice
- Live coaching and mentorship
- Remote team support
