We're seeking an experienced Senior Advanced E-CAD Specialist to support the design and development of ruggedized electronic equipment. You'll create and maintain printed wiring board designs, convert legacy design data, manage complex PCB layouts, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, component, and program teams to deliver production-ready hardware.

What You'll Do:
  • Create, modify, verify, and release printed wiring board designs and circuit card assembly documentation.
  • Capture schematics and develop PCB layouts using Cadence Capture CIS and Allegro or similar E-CAD platforms.
  • Convert legacy schematic and layout information from PDF and Gerber formats into native design files.
  • Create and verify schematic symbols, footprints, padstacks, annotations, netlists, and design constraints.
  • Develop PCB stack-ups, impedance models, transmission-line models, and layout design rules.
  • Perform design-rule checks, resolve errors, and troubleshoot schematic-to-layout discrepancies.
  • Import and export PCB design data, production files, and detailed design reports.
  • Manage multiple concurrent design requests, maintain daily status reporting, and support expedited deliverables.
  • Participate in formal layout reviews, screen-share sessions, design checklists, and technical release activities.
  • Collaborate with Program Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Component Engineering, and manufacturing teams.

What You'll Bring:
  • 8+ years of experience designing printed wiring boards, circuit card assemblies, electronic hardware layouts, or related E-CAD systems with a bachelor's degree; or 6+ years of experience with a master's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience using Cadence Capture CIS and Allegro or equivalent PCB design tools.
  • 3+ years of experience converting schematics, PCB layouts, Gerbers, PDFs, or legacy design data into native E-CAD files.
  • 3+ years of experience creating and verifying schematic symbols, footprints, padstacks, netlists, and design constraints.
  • 3+ years of experience designing PCB stack-ups, impedance-controlled traces, transmission lines, and high-speed layouts.
  • 3+ years of experience developing PCB documentation, manufacturing files, design reports, and engineering release packages.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting mixed-signal, analog, digital, high-speed, RF, power, high-voltage, or high-current circuit designs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience using Cadence Allegro and Capture CIS in production PCB design environments.
  • Experience with Altium, Xpedition, Gerber, ODB++, CAM350, Valor, Polar Si9000, Zplanner, AutoCAD, eDrawings, SolidWorks, or Windchill.
  • Experience designing circuit boards for ruggedized, aerospace, defense, maritime, or military applications.
  • Experience working with IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD, ASME, ESD, UL, and RoHS standards.
  • Knowledge of bare-board fabrication, electronic assembly processes, board materials, tolerances, and manufacturing limitations.
  • Experience designing mixed-signal, RF, Ethernet, PCI, VPX, DDR, RS-485, SATA, USB, I2C, and similar communication interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of component electrical and physical characteristics.
  • Experience managing design data within repositories and product lifecycle management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, technical communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to provide design status updates, delegate tasks, integrate feedback, and deliver within cost, schedule, and technology constraints.
  • Experience identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve design and engineering workflows.

Additional Information:
