About Us

Valor Contracting has delivered over 2,000 successful industrial and commercial projects, earning a reputation for integrity, innovation, and excellence throughout the Upper Midwest and nationwide. Our expertise includes specialty subcontractor services—such as advanced tilt-up concrete and pre-engineered metal buildings—as well as serving as general contractor for national build-to-suit industrial projects. With over 40 years of proven experience, we bring precision and reliability to every phase of construction. From start to finish, we're committed to delivering high-quality results and building lasting client relationships.

About the Role

BIM (Building Models Information) Engineer

The BIM Engineer is responsible for leading Building Information Models (BIM) and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) initiatives throughout the lifecycle of commercial construction projects. This role drives project coordination, constructability review, clash detection, visualization, and digital project delivery to enhance collaboration, reduce risk, and improve project outcomes. The BIM Engineer partners closely with project managers, superintendents, design teams, subcontractors, and clients to leverage technology and data in support of efficient project execution. This role serves as an internal subject matter expert and trusted advisor, helping project teams leverage technology, data, and best practices to improve project outcomes.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and manage BIM models throughout commercial project design and construction
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP systems to identify and resolve design conflicts after field installation
  • Create and maintain construction phasing plans, logistics simulations, site utilization models, and visual project sequencing
  • Utilize laser scanning, drone data, and other reality capture technologies to validate existing conditions and monitor project progress
  • Support preconstruction efforts through model based estimating, quantity takeoffs, and constructability analysis
  • Produce high quality visualizations, renderings, and model-based deliverables for project teams and clients
  • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to leverage BIM data for planning, field coordination, and execution.
  • Establish and maintain BIM execution plans, project standards, workflows, and quality control processes.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and technical support to project teams regarding BIM platforms and VDC best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend process improvements that enhance project delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain model integrity, version control, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
We're Seeking Individuals Who:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of BIM, VDC, design coordination, or construction technology experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience coordinating commercial construction projects using model based workflows.
  • Working knowledge of construction means and methods, building systems, and project delivery approaches.
  • Experience with laser scanning, reality capture, or drone technologies preferred.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
