The Opportunity:
The AI Engineer will design, build, and maintain AI-enabled software solutions that enhance mission delivery, automate complex workflows, and accelerate development through modern engineering practices. In addition to core engineering responsibilities, this role blends applied machine learning, software engineering, and AI-assisted SDLC techniques to deliver high-quality, reliable, and secure systems. The engineer applies advanced consulting skills and deep technical expertise to develop innovative, scalable solutions for complex challenges, operates with a high degree of independence, and mentors team members to elevate overall engineering capability. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with Python and common frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Experience developing and deploying AI-enabled applications such as LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows
  • Experience designing and implementing agentic workflows to enable structured task execution and measurable outcomes
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including compute, storage, and data pipelines
  • Experience with software engineering, including building APIs, integrating AI components into applications, and applying secure development practices
  • Knowledge of embedding models, vector databases, and semantic search
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical AI/ML concepts clearly to stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
