Job Summary
Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer to help shape the future of lunar technologies and missions. Advanced Programs leads the company's earliest stage work, from mission concept definition and long-term technology road mapping to hands on development of breakthrough technologies that will power our next generation of lunar landers, surface systems, and spacecraft. In this role, you will define end-to-end mission concepts for NASA, government, and commercial customers, directly influencing the technologies and architectures that will drive Astrobotic's future lunar pursuits.
This position is based out of Pittsburgh, PA and can be either onsite or remote.
Job responsibilities:
  • Develop and review new concepts and designs of lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
  • Support the development and technical content creation for B&P, R&D, or mission opportunities.
  • Develop the system-level technical vision for new products - connecting customer needs with feasible, high-performing solutions across hardware and software domains.
  • Develop and perform trade studies to support technical, business, and/or programmatic actions and decision-making.
  • Perform power and avionics design and analysis for all mission concepts, right-sizing the power architecture to meet end-to-end mission objectives and requirements.
  • Contribute to programmatic topics such as schedules, resourcing, and budgets estimations.
  • Communicate with other engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to resolve technical risks and challenges.
  • Occasionally participate in visits and technical interchange meetings with customer and partner organizations.
  • Translate abstract customer requirements into actionable product goals and system architectures that can be presented to customers, utilized in proposals, and marketed to stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross functional team meetings to ensure engineering solutions comply with mission and business needs and company technology roadmap.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or similar related discipline plus 10 years of relevant engineering experience. Relevant advanced degree will be considered in lieu of equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: space system development, systems engineering, structure/thermal design and analysis, avionics, power systems, propulsion, orbital mechanics, electrical systems, mechanical & fluid systems, software & controls, modeling & simulation, and/or manufacturing.
  • Experience developing technical content for proposals and external customer presentations.
  • Experience authoring and decomposing mission and system-level requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the launch, space, and lunar environments.

Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of full end-to-end mission solutions
  • Experience with mission architecture development
  • Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing software scripts for automation & analysis.
  • Knowledge of NASA/industry engineering standards.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an agile environment, using organizational tools such as Confluence and Jira.
  • Eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

The good faith base salary range $145,000- $165,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
