Job description

Hansen Talent Group is hiring Senior Application Developer to support enterprise EDI systems and modernization initiatives within a large enterprise.  This is a remote role, based in Columbia, SC. 

What You’ll Do

• Perform analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation of complex enterprise applications
• Support existing EDI front-end and translator systems using X12 / 5010 EDI standards
• Assist with implementation of new EDI front-end and translator solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within multi-tier distributed systems and applications
• Research and resolve customer issues related to file submissions and report retrieval
• Develop and maintain application code, scripts, and system integrations
• Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, and customers to understand and implement business requirements
• Create and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and system specifications
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and production support activities
• Recommend system enhancements and assist with post-implementation support
• Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior developers and team members

What You’ll Need

• 6+ years of application development, systems testing, or related experience
• Strong experience with Unix command-line tools and shell scripting
• Experience troubleshooting distributed multi-tier systems and applications
• Strong experience with either C/C++ or Python
• Experience with SQL and database integration (Oracle or open-source databases)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and system integration concepts
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience
